What does P0175 mean?
The control module detected a condition described as “System too rich bank 2”. The code identifies the affected area, but it does not by itself prove which component has failed. The code describes the detected condition, not a guaranteed failed part. A reliable diagnosis also considers related codes, freeze-frame data, live values and the actual symptoms.
Possible causes
- Leak or pressure loss in the fuel system
- Restricted filter, weak pump or faulty pressure control
- Wiring, connector or power supply to the affected sensor/actuator
- Implausible values from a faulty pressure or quantity sensor
Common symptoms
- Difficult starting or extended cranking
- Power loss, hesitation or limp mode
- Rough idle
- Check-engine light and increased consumption
Sensible next checks
- Save the code together with freeze-frame data
- Compare commanded and actual fuel pressure under different loads
- Inspect connectors, grounds and wiring visually
- Measure first and replace parts only after the result supports it
Why does it return after clearing?
Clearing the code only removes the stored entry. If the underlying condition remains, the control module will set the code again after the next relevant monitor cycle. Save the data first, diagnose the cause, repair it and only then clear the code.
